Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision Near Cross Iron Mills Mall

Airdrie, Alberta – On May 4th, 2013 at approximately 2:00 AM the Airdrie Rural RCMP responded to a fatal motor vehicle collision. The single vehicle was traveling Southbound on Highway 2, and rolled in the ditch near Cross Iron Mills mall. The 38 year old male driver of the black Ford Escort was deceased upon arrival.

Airdrie, Alberta – On Friday, April 19 2013 at 9:40 PM, three separate motorists called 911 to report a suspected impaired driver on Highway 2 southbound near Didsbury. The callers reported witnessing a black Nissan Altima swerving all over the road, and nearly entering the ditch on several occasions.

Update – Shooting at Cross Iron Mills Mall

Rockyview County, Alberta – On December 19th, 2012, the Airdrie RCMP in conjunction with the Calgary RCMP General investigation section and Calgary Police service responded to a complaint of a shooting that occurred in the parking lot at the Cross Iron Mills Mall in Rockyview County, Alberta. The 42 year old male victim was later released from hospital with minor injuries.

Airdrie, Alberta – Following the Alberta Traffic Safety Plan, members of the Airdrie Integrated Traffic Unit have been busy during the first half of the month of April, enforcing the speed limits on roadways in and around the City of Airdrie. Shortly before noon today, Saturday April 13th, 2013, a member of the Airdrie Integrated Traffic Unit was conducting speed enforcement on Highway 566, just east of the CrossIron Mills Mall.

Airdrie, Alberta – On October 6th, 2012, at approximately 1:40 a.m., two masked male suspects robbed the East Airdire Liquor Store, located on Meadowbrook Drive, in Airdrie, Alberta. The first male suspect entered the business, brandishing a claw type hammer at an employee, demanding money.

Stolen Vehicle Rams Officer, Suspects in Custody

Airdrie, Alberta – On April 8, 2013 at 5:20 PM, a Sheriff with Airdrie Integrated Traffic Unit – consisting of RCMP Traffic Services members and Sheriff Highway Patrol officers – was responding to a complaint of an erratic driver on Highway 2 in the Carstairs area. The Sheriff noted the reported vehicle, a blue Ford truck with two male occupants traveling northbound on Highway 2 at high rate of speed, and attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle.

Man Arrested for Driving Within Minutes of Receiving Court-ordered Driving Prohibition

Airdrie, Alberta – The 51-year old male from Calgary involved in this case appeared in Airdrie Provincial Court on Thursday April 4, 2013. The accused entered a guilty plea to the charge of driving while disqualified, and was sentenced to 45 days in jail, plus an additional 1 year driving prohibition (consecutive to the 1-year prohibition he was subject to at the time of the offence).
